DONATE INTEREST

Donate Your Interest –

Make It Do Some Good!

Wait, isn’t interest (riba) haram in Islam?

Yes, earning interest from things like bank savings is not allowed in Islam. The Qur’an says clearly:

“Allah has permitted trade and forbidden riba (interest).” – Surah Al-Baqarah 2:275

But what should you do with the interest you’ve already received?

You can’t use it for yourself, but you also shouldn’t just let it sit there.

So what can I do with it?

Islamic scholars say: Give it away to help others – but don’t expect any reward from Allah for it. You’re just cleaning your wealth.

“Allah is pure and only accepts what is pure.” – Prophet Muhammad (Sahih Muslim)

Where does Help Yateem use interest donations?

We never use it for building mosques, Qur’an printing, or anything spiritual.

How do I give my interest?

It’s simple:
1.   Work out how much interest you’ve earned
